EL NUEVO DIARIO, SANTO DOMINGO.- The Escogido Baseball Club appointed Felipe Vicini as its new President for the 2015-2016 season, during the red franchise’s Annual General Assembly.

Upon his swearing in, Vicini expressed the joy and privilege it represents to chair the scarlet-colored sports team. “Since we the shareholders decided to invest in the Leones del Escogido, we have upheld our commitment to give all so our team is successful and we achieve championship victories, and you can rest assured that this year will be the same, and that we will do everything within our reach to hoist the crown” Vicini said.

The new Board of Directors is formed also by José Miguel Bonetti Du-Breil, Exec. VP; Luis Manuel Bonetti Veras, Secretary; Eduardo Najri, Treasurer; Fernando Armenteros and Kai Schoenhals, both as Directors.

Vicini is also the CEO of VICINI, an asset management firm with presence in the NOLA region (North Latin America) and has been for years closely linked to sports through the CRESO program, a not-for-profit entity that invests in high-performance Dominican athletes. In CRESO, are also present the scarlet team executives Eduardo Najri and José Miguel Bonetti through Ferquido and Sociedad Industrial Dominicana respectively.

During the meeting, the departing chairman, Marcial Najri, presented the assembly with this management report pertaining to the past year.

The current shareholders group has formed part of the directives which have led El Escogido in the successful pathway which began in the 2009-10 season. Since then, the team has won three national crowns and two Caribbean Series championships, and already on their seventh management season, they assume the challenge once more with great hopes and commitment to innovate and lead the scarlet followers to the stadium, to cheer on so that El Escogido wins the crown once again this season.
