The president of CRESO (Creando Sueños Olímpicos), Felipe Vicini, reiterated the commitment to continue supporting Dominican athletes.Vicini, whom issued a courtesy visit on Friday morning, to all athletes still lodging in Villa Olímpica, emphasized his complacence with the performance the athletes have rendered in the Olympic Games which close this Sunday in the capital.
“I am very pleased with the performance our athletes have given, very happy”, said Vicini, whom has been here supporting the performance of all Dominican athletes that resulted winners of two medals, one gold, through Félix Sánchez in the 400 meters jump, and another, silver, through Luguelín Santos, in the 400 meters dash.
Vicini, who was welcomed to Villa Olímpica by Tony Mesa, Deputy Head of Mission, was very emphatic when pointing out that “CRESO will continue to support the athletes coming from Dominican Republic”.
The CRESO president arrived after mid-morning and greeted the mission members that are still here in order to participate in the closing parade for the Olympic Games tomorrow. Vicini also learned of the progress of athlete Gabriel Mercedes, whom suffered a terrible knee injury during his first presentation, which left him sans no chance to advance in the 58kg taekwondo tournament.
